Maria E. DeLuzio is a Partner at Pierce Davis & Perritano LLP.
In her practice, Ms. DeLuzio has represented corporations, small businesses, individuals, municipalities, and a government authority in all phases of litigation in numerous courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. She has also represented clients before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and has argued cases before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Appeals Court.

Ms. DeLuzio serves as lead defense discovery counsel in the Massachusetts asbestos litigation group for cases on each trial list. In this role, Ms. DeLuzio has conducted the depositions of hundreds of plaintiffs, including many plaintiffs whose cases are advanced for trial. Through this work, she has built strong working relationships with both the defense group and the plaintiffs’ bar.
Ms. DeLuzio also supports the firm’s asbestos litigation practice in the other jurisdictions by representing clients at depositions and working with the firm’s junior attorneys to develop case handling strategies. Clients often call on her to represent them at depositions throughout New England for cases from jurisdictions around the country.
Ms. DeLuzio represents a wide variety of clients in the Massachusetts asbestos litigation. She handles cases from inception through the discovery process, and to the final stages of litigation including settlement discussions, mediations, and trial preparation. She advises clients on discovery issues and settlement strategies and works closely with in-house counsel and national coordinating counsel to carry out each client’s global strategies. Ms. DeLuzio has an excellent command of the firm’s clients’ varied products and corporate histories, as well as a clear understanding of the legal issues involved in defending asbestos litigation claims in Massachusetts.
Ms. DeLuzio has practiced law in the Boston area since 1988. She is an accomplished litigator who has conducted numerous bench and jury trials in the courts of the Commonwealth, including the Superior Court, Land Court, and various District Courts.
